SugarStrings cuties

Tom Strini, the music critic from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, writes in "Those adorable Sugar Strings," "Three little teen and pre-teen sweethearts, decked out in improbable, matching debutante ball gowns, played violin, viola and cello during intermission at the Feb. 6 Milwaukee Symphony concert. They couldn't have been cuter, and they played one Baroque dance after another with bracing energy, rhythmic verve and utter confidence." Source

What does this have to do with Sensual Celibacy? Well, as mother of cellist Ayanna (and auntie of Mira and Ade'), I decided long ago that in order to be a better mother, I'd have to give up the bad relationships with men. They were too much of a distraction. I decided that until someone came along who was serious about me, I'd practice celibacy. That way I could focus on the good things in my life vs. being distracted by the bad. I'm not saying it's been easy, but it's the best decision I've ever made.

SugarStrings: Someone You Should Know (ABC/7)

Sorry, I've been gone for awhile, but I just had to check in and let you know about my daughter and nieces and their music trio -- SugarStrings.

They were featured on Harry Porterfield's "Someone You Should Know" segment on ABC/7 (Chicago).

Yesterday they performed at HBCU night at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

Hopes, dreams, wishes, goals:

-- Children's concert at the White House (after all, they too are from the South Side of Chicago)
-- Musical ambassadors to the world for the City of Chicago

Hey, it will happen!
