Well, as mother of cellist Ayanna (and auntie of Mira and Ade'), I decided long ago that in order to be a better mother, I'd have to give up the bad relationships with men. They were too much of a distraction. I decided that until someone came along who was serious about me, I'd practice celibacy. That way I could focus on the good things in my life vs. being distracted by the bad. I'm not saying it's been easy, but it's the best decision I've ever made.
